Co-Director

Get to know Aviva!

Aviva has been a part of Camp Ramah in Canada for several years and currently serves as one of its Co-Directors. She brings a deep passion for Jewish education and community-building, shaped by both her professional and personal experiences. Before joining Ramah, Aviva worked at JIAS (Jewish Immigrant Aid Services) as a Community Outreach Coordinator and previously supported Jewish community programming in Tallinn, Estonia.

Aviva holds a Master’s Degree in Jewish Professional Studies from Spertus University and a BA in Jewish Studies and Religious Studies from Queen’s University. After graduation, she spent three years working with Jewish communities in Poland and the Baltic Region.

When she’s not at camp, Aviva loves spinning on her Peloton and baking (especially sneaking tastes of the batter). She cherishes her time at Ramah and has many favorite memories, from performing “Quantum Leap” in the Chadar Ochel and dancing, to canoeing in Temagami, leading Kabbalat Shabbat with her chanichim, and sharing unforgettable moments with her Magshimim Zug, including Davida.

One of the most magical aspects of Camp Ramah for Aviva is the incredible sense of community—from the youngest campers to the most seasoned staff members, everyone is welcome. She also finds it especially meaningful to see her former camp friends return on Visitors Day to send their own children to camp.

Aviva lives in Hamilton with her husband, Daryn, and their three children: Ellie, who will be in Nitzanim this summer, and twins Ilan and Lior, who love the Rishonim program.

Her favorite piece of advice? “The days are long, the weeks are short – enjoy every moment.”
