At Camp Ramah in Canada, we offer various sessions tailored to meet the developmental needs of campers from grades 3-10, with options ranging from our first and second sessions to 6-week and full-summer experiences.
For younger campers, we provide special programs that gently introduce them to the excitement of overnight camp, helping them step up to longer summer experiences over time.
Each of these programs is thoughtfully designed to offer an age-appropriate progression, giving younger campers a meaningful, supportive environment to explore and grow. Whether your child is trying camp for the first time or taking a next step toward longer stays, these programs are the perfect way to start their camp journey.
All of our “Taste” programs feature a variety of engaging activities, including:
Grade 1
This 4-day program provides a gentle introduction to camp life. Campers get a chance to sample the fun and excitement of camp in a nurturing environment.
Grade 2
In this 10-day session, campers have more time to dive into a wide variety of camp activities, giving them a deeper and more immersive experience in the camp community, including a Shabbat in camp.
Grades 3 & 4
This 2-week option is a great opportunity for campers who are ready for a bit more than a taste, but not yet a full session, allowing them to explore everything camp has to offer.
Campers stay in cabins with two dedicated counselors and are part of a supervised group led by their own Rosh Edah (Division Head). Meals are shared in the Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall), where campers experience the vibrant Ramah Ruach (spirit) alongside the entire camp community.
Each evening features specially designed Peulot Erev (evening activities), followed by Peulat Lilah Tov (bedtime activities) where counselors and staff share stories or songs to help campers wind down after an exciting day.
These shorter programs are a fantastic way for young campers to dip their toes into camp life, get comfortable being away from home, and build up to a full 4-week summer session. Through these experiences, your child will enjoy a rich variety of activities, including sports, swimming, crafts, Hebrew learning, and the joy of celebrating Shabbat with the camp community
