Allison Gutman is the Shabbatonim coordinator and member of the Hillel Day School Judaic Studies faculty, where she teaches Tanakh, Jewish History, and introduction rabbinics for students in grades 6-8. Allison has served the Detroit Jewish community as a Jewish studies teacher and synagogue education director for the administrator for the past nine years. Before joining the Hillel family, Allison was the Director of Youth and Family Learning at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield.
Allison earned her bachelor’s degree from the Western Michigan University, her master’s from Jewish Theological Seminary, and is a graduate of the Mandel Teachers Education Institute and Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Jewish Education Leadership Certificate. In her free time, she can be found cooking, hiking, attending her kids’ sporting events, and hanging out with her husband Brian and their vivacious children, David, Micah, and Abigail.
